Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to present this very desirable 1978 Datsun 280Z coupe, known to collectors as a Black Pearl Edition. Powering this Z is a L28 I6 Cylinder that will really get this 280Z for sale down the road, backed by the rare 5 speed manual transmission makes for the perfect pare. This one is unique for several reasons, and its a beautiful example of the Z series from Datsun, they were entering the sports car arena beginning in 1970 with the 240Z. The 1978 280Z models were the most refined of all the Z-series cars to that point. This year, the manual five-speed transmission was first available in North America-bound cars. Very few 5-spds were ordered from the factory; most were 4-spds. This was also the first and only year for black being an available color on Z-cars. They were known as Black Pearl Edition models.
